How to install Sims 4 custom content

A short, safe path from download to working CC.

1. Get the file from the creator’s page

Use the button on the card – it opens the creator’s original page. Download the archive (usually .zip, with .package or .ts4script inside).

2. Unpack and place

Copy .package files into DocumentsElectronic ArtsThe Sims 4Mods. Script mods (.ts4script) belong in the same folder, not in subfolders more than one level deep.

3. Enable mods

Game Options > Other > “Enable custom content and mods” + “Script mods allowed”, then restart the game.

4. After a game patch

Patches often break script mods. Re-enable mods in settings, check creators’ pages for updates, and if the game misbehaves use the 50/50 method: move half the Mods folder out, test, narrow down.

5. Clean-up helpers

Community tools such as Better Exceptions or Sims 4 Studio report which file failed – usually the fastest way to find the culprit after a patch.
